All your questions answered - Stress less, celebrate more!
I want your ceremony planning to feel smooth, stress-free, and enjoyable!
Below are a few key details to help you understand what’s included, any extra costs, and what to expect - If you don’t see the question or answer that you’re looking for, feel free to get in touch.
How long does a wedding ceremony take?
Most ceremonies last 30-40 minutes, depending on the personal touches you include, such as vows, readings, or rituals. A simple legal ceremony is much shorter, around 10 minutes, covering only the required legal wording and signing. Whatever the length, your ceremony will be meaningful and tailored to you!
Can we write our own vows?
Absolutely! Personal vows make your ceremony extra special. I can offer guidance, examples, and feedback to help you find the perfect words.
Do we need to have witnesses?
Yes, you’ll need two witnesses who are at least 18 years old and have a full understanding of the english language. They can be friends, family, or even strangers if needed!
Can you marry us at sunrise or sunset?
Of course! Sunrise and sunset ceremonies are absolutely possible and can create a truly beautiful backdrop for your wedding day.
Please note that sunrise ceremonies and any ceremonies commencing after 6:00pm do attract an additional fee.
What paperwork/documents do we need to get married?
To legally marry in Australia, you’ll need to complete a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) form at least one calendar month before your wedding. You will also need evidence of your date and place of birth and if applicable, divorce/death certificates.
Do we have to say specific words for the marriage to be legal?
Yes there are a few legally required statements, but beyond that, your ceremony can be as personal as you like. I’ll ensure we include everything needed.
What marriage certificates are included?
Commemorative Marriage Certificate – presented to you on your wedding day
Official Marriage Certificate – required for name changes and legal purposes
There is a fee charged for the official certificate, but I include it in all my packages to keep things simple and stress-free! I’ll also take care of lodging everything with Births, Deaths & Marriages (BDM) on your behalf.
When will we receive our official marriage certificate?
Once I lodge your paperwork, BDM processes it and sends your certificate directly to you. This usually takes 2–3 weeks, but times can vary.
How far in advance should we book you?
I recommend booking as soon as you know your date—6 to 12 months in advance is ideal, especially during peak wedding seasons.
Do you provide a PA system?
Yes! I include a professional PA system with a wireless microphone for The Full Love Story package so your guests can hear your vows clearly. If it is needed for another package, this can be arranged for an additional fee.
Can we have a rehearsal?
Yes! A full rehearsal is included in The Full Love Story package. If you’d like one for another package, this can be arranged for an additional fee.
What happens if you get sick on the day?
In the unlikely event that I can’t attend, I have a network of trusted celebrants who can step in to ensure your ceremony goes ahead smoothly.
How much does a celebrant cost?
Pricing depends on the type of ceremony—check out my Ceremony Packages page for full details.
Do you charge travel fees?
Travel is included for venues within 30km of Sydney (each way). Beyond this, a fee of $1 per additional km applies. If your location requires tolls or overnight accommodation, I’ll let you know of any extra costs upfront.
How do we pay?
A $250 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your date, and the remaining balance is due 30 days before the wedding. Payments can be made by bank transfer.
What if we need to postpone our wedding?
No problem! Your booking can be transferred to a new date (subject to my availability).
What is your cancellation policy?
Deposits are non-refundable, as your date is locked in and other bookings may have been turned away.
If you cancel within 30 days of your ceremony, the full balance is non-refundable.
